We recently retired and set off on the adventure of building a new log home on 10.55 acres in North Country. This piece of land is part of the Adirondack State Park and includes a rear boundary along the St. Regis River and a wonderful creek (which we've named Andy's Creek because Rick's brother Andy found the land). The creek has several waterfalls, the land itself is about 4 acres of meadow and 6.5 acres of beautiful woods (most of it evergreens) complete with winding paths, and clearings to just wander through and enjoy nature.
This blog is meant to include our family and friends in this wonderful adventure. So enjoy the journey with us.
Shucks, how did I miss all this? We don't have an upstairs. Love the heavy feel of the spindles. We have a Victorian home downstate. You can imagine the delicate nature of the splindle's on our porch...and we don't have any kids! Ours have been re-infoced, re-glued, re-set, just because everyone wants to put their feet on them. I don't know why. Your's look kid and feet proof. Hopefully, noone decides that they need to put their feet up on yours.

The railings are beautiful - I like how thick they are. You've made so many great choices in your home!
