Interior Framing begins...

This is the downstairs bedroom. On the other side of that wall are the stairs (both up to the loft and down to the basement)

This is the beginning of the kitchen. They have flattened out the logs to make the 2x4's fit snuggly and straight.

This is a wall of doors. Three of them. On the right is the basement door, middle is a hallway closet and the last door is for the bedroom.

Garage rafters finished...

I'm a few days behind here. But Rick and Andy have been working hard!

This upper wall will have a loft door. There are plans in the works to have a small road leading around to the back of the house from this side of the garage.

I have it on good authority that everything is level and square!

Garage rafters continue...

Rick and Andy had 3 rafters finished after working all day on Friday.

They worked again on Saturday.

I really like what I'm seeing.

I can't find any bugs...Oh my...Which way is out???
Eventually (removing screens and opening windows) Mr. Woodpecker did fly off to his tree.
No harm...no foul...just curiosity on his part. Maybe he wanted to welcome us to the neighborhood?

My second piece of mail...

I have a very good friend who lives in The Netherlands. She was kind enough to send a "Good Luck" card and a package of sunflower seeds. In true SDP fashion (SDP=Sweet Dutch Person) she decided she had to check and make sure international mail (in her words "International Carrier Pigeon") would be able to find my new home. Good news Ellen...It did...and a very big THANK YOU!!!

The Sunflower seeds I will be planting as an offering to Mother Nature. Only I think I may have to wait for next year. Although I can't read Dutch I suspect I've missed planting time...

All of the windows...

All the windows have the wooden slat inserts. We haven't managed to sort them all out yet and figure out which goes where. Then we have to find the paint to match the exterior color...and we are still unsure of what color stain to use inside.

But the good news is that the inserts are all pre-assembled and have a spring loaded holding pin.

And I must add that the window stickers (in evidence in all the pics) JUST PEEL RIGHT OFF!!! Obviously someone heard my complaints about the hours of work getting those stickers off.
